So back in September Google announced yet another Algorithm update, this one entitled Hummingbird. Of course it sent fear throughout the SEM/SEO community because of the drops in rankings many suffered after both the Panda and Penguin updates. And while few of OUR clients have felt this update (which by the way started rolling out MONTHS before the announcement) the script remains the same: CONTENT IS KING, quality content. Google’s goal, stronger than ever, is to provide the most RELATIVE result to its end-user. It wants you to find exactly what you’re looking for when you use its search engine, so not only does it continue to frown on manipulations that would trick the algorithm into serving up results that may not be the most relative, it wants to drive web managers to continue to develop unique and high-quality content that will bring wanted information to its users. Nothing’s changed here folks, we’ve been saying it since the beginning: CONTENT, CONTENT, CONTENT… if you build it they will come. Put yourself in your customer’s mind.. what would you want to know and find if you were on the other side of the algorithm.
“There is an old saying, The harder you work the luckier you get. I kind of like that definition of luck.”
